We have a number of athletes competing in the Regional Track Meet today (Thursday, May 30) and Saturday (June 1) at Welcome Stadium in Dayton. Our boys 4x800m relay (Chase Guggenheim, Ian Goertzen, Nate Johnson, Ben Stites) is in the finals today as is Kolan Livingston in the discus. The girls 4x100m relay (Cynthia Reinecke, Kayla Livingston, Danielle McKee, Natalie Burchard) competes in the semifinals today and Kayla will also be in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Field events start at 4 this afternoon and running at 5.
On Saturday events begin at 11:30 and Kayla also qualified in the long jump. Running follows at 12:30 with all finals. Sammy Schwartz is in the 800 as are Nate Johnson and Chase Guggenheim for the boys. Ben Stites is in both the 1600 and 3200 and Ian Goertzen joins him in the 3200.
Also, last Saturday at the District meet Cynthia Reinecke set a school record in the Pole Vault!
Thanks to Kathy Guggenheim, who was quick enough to capture the Boys' 4x800m relay winners. Winners being plural as in - they won at both the CHL and District Meets.
