Middle School Boys Lacrosse State Tournament

Coach Ted Denson sent the following report from the Middle School Boys' Lacrosse OMSLA Tournament

The MS boys lacrosse team traveled to Columbus over the weekend to compete in the State Championship tournament in Division II. After losing their first game 6-2 to Jackson, the Cowboys bounced back to beat Bellbrook 7-4, avenging an early season overtime loss. In their third game they faced the number one seed Cincinnati Blue Jays, losing 7-1. Grant Mellot had an outstanding tournament in goal, making 24 saves and earning a game ball. Games balls were also earned by Cole Engel, who led all scorers with 4 goals and 2 assists, and Connor Yauss, who had 3 goals, 1 assist, and 19 ground balls. Brookes Brunke, Alex Thompson, and Jared Buttelwerth also contributed to the scoring, with Zach Osha and Max Frankel providing assists. The Cowboys finished their season with a record of 18-15, ranked in the top 10 in Southern Ohio for the second year in a row.

Congratulations and good luck to the players who will be moving on to high school ball at LaSalle, St. Xavier, and Wyoming High School.
