You can pretty clearly see the field conditions from this shot. |
The defense scored the first two touchdowns of the game. In the first quarter, Brian Anderson intercepted a Reading pass and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown. This is the second week in a row that Brian has scored on a turnover - last week he picked up an Indian Hill fumble and ran it in from 10 yards out.
In the second quarter Max Kadish returned a pick 50 yards for a touchdown. Max would later score two offensive touchdowns - only to have both of them called back on penalties.
The offense joined in the scoring later in the second quarter with Will Marty throwing an eleven yard TD pass to Dominic Vamosi.
The team put the game out of reach in the third quarter with a 46 yard TD pass by Will to Dawson Rogers and a 10 yard TD scamper by Will.
Phillip Schulholz comcluded the scoring in the fourth with a 25 yard TD run.
Dawson was 6-6 on PAT's on a sloppy field.
The defense had a strong night - Brian and Max's interception return yardage of 125 was greater than the 111 yards of offense the defense gave up to Reading.
The defense also turned Reading over three times via fumble with Mikey Gonzalez recovering two of them and Branford Darlington the other.
Will was 12-20 passing for 184 yards and two TD's.
Phillip led the rushing stats with 79 yards and the receiving with 69.
Next up: Homecoming on Friday - Parade at 6:30, game vs. Deer Park at 7:30. The grill crew will have things fired up early so no need to go home after the parade - just come to the stadium and get something to eat at the concession stand.
Photo gallery here. (I was a bit indulgent with the number of pictures I posted, 99, but loved the muddy uniforms.)
