Triumph at Talawanda

Jen Hayes reports for the Boys Varsity Soccer team.

The Wyoming Men's Varsity soccer team made the trek to Talawanda Saturday afternoon (September 7th), and they definitely made the drive worth it.

The first half the Braves stood strong, but couldn't hold out when Ivan Meisner took a hard shot which ricocheted off the goalie and into the net! 

Second half the Cowboys continued on!  May seem surprising...but Andrew Derge scored the next goal for the Cowboys (I know...he never scores! yeah right! he's a beast!).  The final goal of the game was scored by Toby Varland after a Talawanda foul.  The kick sailed towards the goal, right through a crowd of players, and right past the goalie, before anyone knew what happened.  I think even Toby was shocked that it went in!  But hey, we will take it.  Final score was Wyoming 3 - Talawanda 0

Guys did great! Way to go Cowboys!  Next game is Tuesday, September 9th at Taylor.  JV plays at 5.  Varsity plays at 7.
