Record Breaker

While on the DL, Drew Gold reports for the Cross Country team:

The guys and girls cross country teams of Coach Travis Glendenning competed at the inaugural Xavier University High School Invitational this past Saturday in Mason, Ohio.

The guys team placed 3rd out of 14. Seniors Ben Stites and Max Hoffman once again led the way for the Cowboys, placing 2nd and 4th respectively. Ben Stites also broke the Wyoming High School 5k record, running a 16:08, which beat the 11 year old record of 16:12 held by Lucas Nebert.

The girls team placed 2nd out of 12 teams, their second top 3 finish of the year. Senior Katie Spray placed 6th and Sophomore Terra Forsythe placed 10th.

The guys runners continued to be ranked in the most recent Ohio state poll.  A preseason number 9 team in the OATCCC Cross Country Poll, the team moved up to 8th in the August 28th rankings.

The teams return to action on September 9th when they run in the Greenon 2 mile race in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
