Softball senior recognition/mud bowl

The softball team was to conduct senior recognition on Friday followed by a game against Mariemont.

The senior part they got done.  Katie Horn, Patty Williams, Clara Rodrigue, Rachel Rodrigue and Carly Heuer were feted (although as you can see from the top picture, they had to move inside the dugout to do so).

They also partook in a tradition of which the Roundup was unaware, but we think is very cool.  Each year at senior day the graduating players write their names inside the dugout.  Big ups to Peter (Levick - see below) for this picture, as it shows Clara Rodrigue writing her name on the board, and big sisters Anne Compton and Bentley's names further down (you can click on the picture for a larger view).  Of course sister Rachel would soon add her name, completing the Rodrigue sweep.

With the game washed out, they held the first annual softball team mud bowl (conspiracy theorists will debate for years as to who actually instigated this, although the Roundup has its own beliefs - think Tide sales and what P&G'ers may have been present).

Next up: tourney game at Talawanda, Tuesday at 5 PM.

Thanks to Peter Levick for the photos and reporting.  His gallery here.

HUG IT OUT!!
