The boys' soccer team had a big night last night - sweeping the JV and varsity games against Deer Park and celebrating their seniors at halftime of the varsity game.
The JV team started things off on the right foot with a 5-0 victory. Otto Warmbier led the way with two goals scored and Marc Akindi, Peter McGrath and Evan Ammerman added one each. Kudos to the defense and keepers Benji Kriner and Peter McGrath for the shutout.
The varsity then won handily, 9-0. Each of these nine players scored a goal: Greg Athans, Jamie Meranus, Gustav Plattenburg, Jake Anderson, Aaron Linn, Noah Gilbert, Jason Dewitt, Daniel Zimmerman and Nathan Meisner.
Harrison Glover and Evan Handler combined for the shutout along with a staunch defense.
The team is now 9-4 (4-2) on the season.
Seniors honored were: Jake Anderson, Greg Athans, Noah Gilbert, JB Heisey, Sawyer Kreuzmann, Aaron Linn, Jamie Meranus, Joe Panos & Gustav Plattenburg.
Next up: Away tomorrow vs. Purcell Marion – JV at 4 pm and Varsity at 5:30 pm. The games will be played at Otto Armleder Park, 5059 Wooster Pike, Cincinnati Ohio 45226.
