A Perfect 10

Bryn Lewis reported from the Boys Basketball game against Taylor on Tuesday, January 3rd.  The win puts them at 10-0 in the CHL (14-1 overall).

This game, a rematch against the Taylor Yellow Jackets, wasn't like the game earlier in the season and is another one of those games that I don't enjoy giving the blow-by-blow because, after the first quarter, the Cowboys' Defense, Team-play, Scoring Depth and Persistence made it a clear win early.

At the end of the first quarter, Wyoming was down by two, 13-15.  Notes: Jake Edmonds started the scoring with a top of the key 3. Lonnie Grayson had a very long three - maybe four feet beyond the three-point arc. Walker Lewis had a fight-for-it D rebound and a block.

The 2nd Qtr.: Notes: Lonnie had a jumper in the paint to take the lead, 18-17, then a steal and a pass to Walker for 20-17.Mason Rogers had a D rebound (or two), a steal and got air on a big block. Hudson Rogers was controlling the underneath. Minute to go and Garyn Prater had a putback 2 to increase the lead to double digits, 31-20, and he had a steal. 35-20 at the half.

3rd rd. Qtr.: Hudson, Hudson, Hudson, Jake, Jake.  Hudson and Jake owned the defensive boards. Andrew Marty took a textbook charge. Nate Lowe steal. Defense brought easy lay-ups. 51-24.

4th Qtr.: Nate, Nate. Nate had D rebounds and another steal. Andrew got a putback 2. With 4:34 to go, Devon Davis came in and immediately got a D rebound and a minute later shot a 3. Final: 64-35 Wyoming.

This game was all about the boards 45-15.  Hudson led the crew with at least 9 and Walker wasn't too far behind.  Mason, Jake and Lonnie grabbed a bunch too. Lonnie had 21 points.
