Clearing the Benches

Bryn Lewis reported for the Boys Basketball team on the Tuesday, January 20th game against Deer Park.

The Cowboys played a team in transition and took care of business.  It's hard to do a write up of a game the team was supposed to win against and did with dispatch because it was just a few short years ago that the Cowboys were a team in transition and beating them was expected on the season calender.

There will be few notes today. It was a steady deconstruction each quarter but I have to applaud the Deer Park players for playing hard till the last buzzer.  They're having a tough season and to come out and play hard the whole game should be commended.

That said, a few things of note:  The Cowboys were able to get deeper in their bench and get players more court time. Garyn Prater is showing his maturation and growing confidence to shoot in space and traffic.  Nate Lowe continues to get more rebounds, assists and points each game.  Andrew Marty got his most minutes so far and his defense and offensive prowess showed the Cowboys depth. At 2 minutes left in the 3rd qtr., Cowboy Crazies fan favorite, Devon Davis came in and showed his touch with the ball getting 6 points for the game including two long 2s from the right side.  Jack Gildea came into the game less than half way through the 4th qtr and played good defense. Soon after Jared Winter and Jared Lowe came in and Jared had a put back and a top of the key 3 for a total of 5 points in the game.  Jacob Simons and Max Maisel followed with time and showed their progress with the system as well.

Final 65-25
