Saturday, February 16th, the Girls' Basketball team met New Richmond at Withrow for the first round of the Sectional Brackets. Down by 1 at the half, the Girls' couldn't overcome and lost 35-50. Ashli O'Neal led the scoring for the Cowboys with 11 points and 2 steals. Emily Wadds scored 9 points with 8 rebounds, while Haley Stewart was right behind with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Kelsey Brunsman put up 5 points, and Natalie Burchard added 2 points to finish up the scoring.
I know the David and Goliath references are overdone and cliche so I won't say it. But check out the picture below of our own 5'-10" Wadds being dwarfed by New Richmond's #44. Gee Whiz!
What a great season! The team finished the regular season at 12-10 (9-5 in the League for 4th place).
