Jeff King, WHS '07, update

Jeff King, WHS '07, was wearing # 62 this weekend instead of his normal # 98.  Here's the story:

Last year a senior named Marcellis Williamson, who played in front of Jeff and was a good friend of his, graduated and went home, but died suddenly from a blood clot in his lungs. Jeff was interviewed after learning of Marcellis' death. In the interview, Jeff said "Maybe God needed a nose guard and He got a really good one."

The team made that into a plaque and it is in the stadium.  It has Marcellis' likeness on it with the quote "Maybe God needed a nose guard and He got a really good one." by Jeff King, teammate and friend.

Jeff got permission from the coaches to wear Marcellis' jersey this past weekend for homecoming.

Also, OU produced its own version of "Hard Knocks", which they call Relentless: An Inside Look at Ohio Football.  Jeff appears in a number of the episodes but most prominently in Episode 2, where they follow him to Columbus for knee surgery.  I haven't had time to watch all the episodes, but when you do, make sure to also keep your eye out for Wyoming grads Eric Price and Tony Davis.

Finally, upcoming televised OU games:
11-2 Temple at OU - ESPN - 8 PM
11-22 - Miami at OU - ESPN2 - 7 PM
