Football team defeats Mariemont 28-7

The football team defeated Mariemont on Friday night 28-7.

Mariemont's lone score was off a Wyoming fumble which they returned 32 yards for a score.

All four Wyoming touchdowns were scored by Phillip Schuholz, who rushed 31 times for 178 yards.

As noted above, the defense pitched a shutout.  They allowed Mariemont just 92 yards rushing and 73 passing.

Will Marty was 8-18 for 160 yards.  Ben Kurtz led the recievers with three catches for 87 yards, including back-to-back 34 and 39-yarders on the last play of the first quarter and first play of the second.

Next up: next Friday at Finneytown at 7:30.  Finneytown beat Indian Hill (who beat us 28-22) this past Friday 28-18, after trailing 10-8 heading into the fourth quarter.  Finneytown RB Marcus Owens (5' 10", 165) had 172 yards rushing and 58 receiving so I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that stopping him will be a key for our defense.  He's averaging almost 102 yards per game on the ground.  It's a short drive for what should be a good game.  Finneytown footall ringing in victories
