Girls' Divsion II Sectional Tennis

The following are the results from yesterday's DII Sectional Tennis Tournament, held in Mason:

Singles:

Meredith Hennessy
Second round - defeated Madeira's Katie Derenthal 6-1, 6-0.
Third round - defeated Feuerpeil (Clinton-Massie) 6-2, 6-0.
Quarterfinals - lost to Littman (Indian Hill) 6-4, 6-3.

Rise Sakaguchi
Second round - defeated Badin's Caroline Zettler 6-1, 6-0.
Third round - defeated Felicia Shadwick from Monroe 6-0, 6-0.
Quarterfinals - lost to Williams (CHCA) 6-0, 6-0.

Ellen Koesterman
Second round - defeated Ann Gaillot from East Clinton 6-4, 6-0.
Third round - defeated Julia Vanderlinde from CCDS 6-3, 6-0.
Quarterfinals - lost to Shumacher (Indian Hill) 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles:

Tess Thoresen and Ashley Berg
Second round - defeated Perry-Ellinghausen from Ross 6-0, 6-0.
Quarterfinals - defeated Maher-Boris from Clinton-Massie 6-0, 6-1. They advance to semifinals and quality for districts.

Maddie Boster and Madison Bourbon
First round - defeated Wiget-Bogan (East Clinton) 6-0, 6-0.
Second round - defeated Vanderschueren-Skidmore (Indian Hill) 6-3, 6-2.
Quarterfinals - defeated Mesh-Barton (CCD) 6-3, 6-2. They advance to semifinals and quality for districts.

Tess and Ashley, Maddie and Madison will resume Sectional play tomorrow.  They play out (two more matches no matter what) for District seeding.  Districts will be October 13th at Centerville.

The girls are currently ranked 10th in the state.
