Girls' cross country takes second at Districts

The girls' cross country team finished second at the Division II district meet held at Voice of America Park in West Chester on Saturday.

Emily Stites took second place individually.  In the process she again set a school record, her third of the season, and is now more than 30 seconds under the previous school record set in 2001.  Emily finished just 4.4 seconds behind Indian Hill's Elizabeth Heinbach, who she has battled for years.  The two were over a minute faster than the third place finisher.

Enquirer article here.
Heinbach’s victory in Division II was a familiar scene. In winning her fourth straight district title with a time of 18:27 she beat Wyoming senior Emily Stites, her constant shadow this season, by four seconds. Heinbach’s win also led the Braves to their second consecutive district team title with 38 points.
Team standings: 1. Indian Hill 38; 2. Wyoming 68; 3. Ross 79; 4. McNicholas 99; 5. Goshen 132; 6. New Richmond 133; 7. Bethel-Tate 136; 8. Reading 245; 9. Batavia 247.
