District CHAMPS!!

Matt Maxwell filed the following report from the Volleyball team's edge-of-your-set, down-to-the-wire, big WIN over Kenton Ridge on Saturday, October 26th.

The Cowboy volleyball team came through with a huge win on Saturday on their way to a  5-set victory over #7 ranked Kenton Ridge at Trent Arena.  After dropping 2 of the first 3 sets, the Cowboys overcame  an 18-14 deficit to win game four 25-22 and square the match at 2 games a piece.  With the season coming down to a final 15 point game, the girls came out determined not to let their season end.  After trailing 2-0 early on, the Cowboys built an 8-3 lead before Kenton Ridge attempted to rally pulling them within 3 points at 12- 9.  With momentum potentially swinging, Coach Plitt called a time-out to refocus the girls and the strategy paid-off as the team never looked back going on to win the deciding game five, 15-9! Another great team victory for the Cowboys with everyone stepping up their game to pull-out the victory.

A special shout-out to all the fans that made the trip to Kettering to support the team!! It was an electric atmosphere with all cheering and helping to lift the team through the tough points in the match.  You all truly made a difference and were a big part of the victory!! THANK YOU!!

Next up, the first round of Regionals at Wilmington High School on Thursday October 31st against #2 ranked Kettering Alter.  This is the Third consecutive year that the Cowboys will face the Knights in the first round of regionals!!  Game time is set for 7:30 and the team will once again need the cheering and support of all that can make it up to Wilmington!!  COWBOYS...YOU KNOW!!!!!

Thanks to Matt Maxwell for the report.  Stay tuned for pictures from the game.
