Coach Crider let us know how the CHL Championships went for the Boys' Golf Team. (Not that there was ever any doubt)
On Saturday 9/28, the WHS Boys Varsity golf team continued its great season by clinching the Cincinnati Hills League title for Fall, 2013. The team finished 2nd by a single stroke to Mariemont in the season ending CHL Championship tournament, and that finish was good enough to allow the team to seal the overall league title with a final record of 28 – 2 in the CHL. This is the second consecutive CHL title for the team, and the first back to back titles since 2006 & 2007.
This year’s title capped off a dominant performance by the WHS Boys Varsity team. For the season, all 8 members of the team finished in the top 25 in terms of scoring average. Seniors Henry Moore & Chris Betagole, as well as sophomore Sam Marty and freshman Cooper Hausfeld all finished in the top 7 for season long scoring average in the league. Juniors Stephen Cholvat and Johnny Hughes were 9th & 10th in the league, and seniors Michael Montgomery (15th) and Jack Brown (25th) rounded out the statistical leaders in the league.
As a coach, I was very proud of the way the boys competed, and how they represented Wyoming in each and every match this year.
