Record Breakers Under the Lights

Saturday, August 24th, the Cross Country team opened their season at the Centerville Saturday Night Lights event.  Coach Glendenning sent us a report and we have copied the text from the Run Wyoming Blog below.

We got off to a really nice start against almost exclusively D1 competition.  Based on my research it appears this is the first time in school history that 3 boys ran faster than 16:50 in the same 5k race.  If a sage veteran of the Wyoming running community has evidence to the contrary it would be great to have for my record books.

Below is from the Run Wyoming Blog.
Full results from last night's races are available at Finish Timing.

The Varsity Girls finished 12th out of 23 teams (2nd among DII teams), led by Katie Spray's career best time of 21:04.

Our boys followed up with a 7th place finish (1st among DII teams) as Ben Stites, Max Hoffman, and Ian Goertzen all ran sub-17 minute times.  The boys individual record page has been updated with 3 new entries in our school's all-time top 20.

Thanks to everyone for a fantastic first race.  From solid times to great organization and effort among our athletes it was an outstanding way to start the season!

Next: @ Greenville Treaty City Invitational, 8/31
