New water cart

There's a news magazine called The Week which has a section titled "Boring but Important."  Please see below for the Roundup's first (intentional) "Boring but Important" entry:

Boosters fund purchase of new Water Cart

James Muncy, WHS Athletic Trainer, presented a proposal last spring to the Athletic Director that addressed the hydration and hygienic needs of our athletes who practice and/or have games on the grass fields. His proposal was then submitted to the Boosters. Today the Boosters announce the purchase and installation of a new water cart that will support our free-range athletes.

The new Powerflo 50 Hydration System is a 50 gallon insulated water tank that is battery powered to create water pressure for the six dispensing hoses and rests on a metal wheeled cart.

Warning - the following paragraph contains graphic descriptions of the deprivations faced by Wyoming athletes in the past.  Reader discretion is advised.

No longer will our athletes who are practicing or having a game on the grass fields have to come to the turf field for water or stand in line to fill up their water bottles from a water jug/cooler (oh the humanity). Readily available access to water will lessen potential dehydration and heat-related illnesses. Additionally, this water cart allows a more hygienic delivery of water as it discourage athletes from sharing water bottles (which is disgusting). Furthermore, it eliminates the need for excessive use of the water jug/coolers as some (recalcitrant) athletes were known to reach in to dip their bottles in the water, which in turn contaminates the water with germs from sweat, dirt and grass.  (I mean getting grass in your water is almost like eating a vegetable - YUCK!)

Instruction on use and care of the new water cart will be managed by the Athletic Trainer.

If your only other option at this point is to go back to working, please proceed to the PowerFlo 50 Hydration System web site here, where you can read about the "anti-tip auto steering system" (I am not making that up) and download the 15 MB Powerflo 50 User Manual (for entertainment purposes ONLY - see previous paragraph).

Finally (as if anyone is still reading this), Booster Treasurer Peter J. Tighe would like to commend James on his shopping prowess.  He finagled a price of $1,378, which was $100 less than what we approved.
