Girls' tennis players advance in Coaches Classic

The girls tennis team is playing in the Coaches Classic.  There were matches yesterday and it continues tomorrow.  Wyoming is one of seven schools in Flight "C". The other schools are: Cincinnati Country Day, Lakota East B, Seton, Talawanda, Winton Woods, and Ursuline B.

It was 95 degrees and extremely gusty yesterday. Unless the shots were hit low and hard, the tennis balls would blow and bounce unexpectantly. Results:

First Round - Meredith Hennessy-Maddie Boster (Wyoming) d. Stone-Dowling (Talawanda) 6-4, 6-1
Second Round - Hennessy-Boster d. Parrella-Wills  (Lakota East "B") 6-2, 6-2

Second Doubles
First Round - Camille Wilson-Ellen Koesterman (Wyoming) d. Wayne-Gross (Lakota East "B") 6-3, 6-4
Second Round - Wilson-Koesterman d. Lazarus-Mesh  (CCD) 6-1, 2-6, 10-6

The tournament continues tomorrow, Saturday, at 8am at Lakota East and Liberty Jr. High. Each of our players competes in her respective court. Ashley Berg 1st singles, Tess Thoresen 2nd singles, Maddie Boster & Meredith Hennessy 1st doubles and Ellen Koesterman & Camille Wilson 2nd doubles are in the finals and Stella Fischer 3rd singles will play in the backdraw.

Correction: there are 2 home matches left- Monday 9/27 vs. Finneytown and Thursday 9/30 vs. Cincinnati Country Day. We play Summit Country Day on Wednesday 9/29. Following in October is sectionals and districts.
