Girls' soccer trumps Taylor

The girls' soccer team beat CHL foe Taylor last night at Bob Lewis Stadium.

The first goal came in the first three minutes of the game with Michelle Jolson beating the Taylor defenders down the left side and playing a diagonal ball into the box for Carly Levick to finish. The Cowboys battled for the rest of the half with a very aggressive Taylor, just missing several more scoring opportunities. The second goal game with 15 seconds left in the first half with Meghan McAllister finishing the service from Michelle.

The Cowboys went on to score 3 more goals in the second half - Meghan again and freshman Emma Klug (who subbed in for Meghan) added the final 2 making the score 5-0.

The Cowboys also saw tremendous defense from Nikki McKee and Kelsey Brunsman and outstanding midfield play from Hailee Schlager, Whitney Mangas, and Carly Varland. The Cowboys also saw great leadership from Michelle Jolson who set up 4 of the 5 goals and is credited with 3 assists.

Abby Keller recorded her 6th shutout of the season with 2 saves and Paige Weinstein secured that shutout with 1 save.

The Cowboys are 6-1-2 overall and 2-1-0 in the League.
