Football loses to Turpin

The football team lost to a tough Turpin team Friday night by a score of 35-20.  Turpin came into the game ranked 4th in the Enquirer Coaches' Poll.

We trailed just 14-13 at halftime but a 14-0 Turpin third quarter put the game out of reach.  They outgained us 328-298 and won the turnover battle with 3 takeaways vs. our one.

Robert Gomez did well in his first start since Kyle Seyfried's injury.  Through the air he was 15-31 for 145 yards with one TD and he ran for 58 yards on 15 carries.

Drew Perry scored two touchdowns and picked up 51 yards in 16 carries.

Jonathan Tighe had another big night catching seven balls (including one circus catch that reminded me of some of Evan Aleshire's catches from last year) for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Max Kadish was all over the field with one rush for five yards, a halfback pass for 39 yards, three receptions, two kickoff returns and of course playing cornerback all night as well.

Next up: Hall of Fame game vs. Norwood at home Friday night at 7:30.  Hall of Fame inductions are at 5:30 in the Pendery Center lobby.

Enquirer article here.

I went indulgent on the photo gallery, including a lot of the activity around the game instead of just the game itself.  I also included some "portrait" type shots of some the players instea of just action at the ball.  Expansive photo gallery here.
