The Wyoming Men's 2015 Soccer season has officially begun. The season started with a challenging game against Walnut Hills (Saturday, August 22nd). The Cowboys scored once in the first half (Reece Dow) and once in the second half (header Tristan Kovach), but they couldn't hold off the very 'aggressive' Eagles. Game ended with a tie 2-2.
Tuesday night (August 25th) the guys played Princeton. And what a beautiful night for soccer it was! The Cowboys could not have come out any stronger. The first half saw 4 goals. Nathan Gressel pushed the first one into the net (literally). #2 and #3 were scored by Jay Klein with assists by Ben Derge and the long leg of Nolan Morley. Garreth Norris had an assist to Ivan Meisner who did a beautiful far post shot to get #4. The second half, the Cowboys got a lot of practice passing the ball, but just to keep things interesting, Andrew Derge put in a header to give the Cowboys a win over the Vikings 5-0.
Tomorrow night (Thursday, Aug 27) the Cowboys take on Anderson in their Home opener. Hopefully everyone can come out and cheer them on!
JV plays at 5:00 pm and Varsity plays at 7:00
Thanks to Jen Hays for the great report.
