Kadish, Edgington square off to start senior seasons

Ian Kadish and Jon Edgington, fellow members of WHS '07, squared off in the first game of their senior seasons this past Friday at the College of Charleston Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina.  Ian is Marshall's closer and Jon plays second base.

Ian's Marshall Thundering Herd defeated Jon's Miami Redhawks 3-2 (in 11).  Jon batted against Ian but no one seems to know what happened - apparently all the (Wyoming) parents in attendance had their eyes closed thinking back to those halcyon days when Jon and Ian were teammates for the Cowboys.

For the weekend, Jon had four stolen bases including a steal of home and two hits. He started at 2B and batted in the two hole.

Ian pitched a strong inning and 2/3 against Miami and closed out Marshall's win against UK.

Pretty awesome that in this tournament with great teams and players you had two kids from little Wyoming High School there in prominent roles.

Jon will be playing four games in Cincinnati this year - March 15 at Xavier at 3 PM, April 12 & 13 at the Joe Nuxhall Invitational (I assume at UC), and May 10th at UC at 6:30.  And of course Oxford is not that far away.  Full schedule here.

You're going to have to work a little harder to see Ian.  Marshall plays March 12th at OU in Athens, March 22nd at Cleveland State, March 29th in Lexington, Kentucky, April 12th in Morehead, Kentucky and April 19th in Richmond, Kentucky.  Full schedule here.
