The Wyoming girls soccer team advanced to the regional finals last night with a 1-0 victory over Badin. Hailee Schlager scored the decisive goal with less than 5 minutes to go in the game.
A pass beyond the Badin defenders sent Michelle Jolson and the Badin keeper dashing for the ball at the top of the penalty box. Michelle got there first but her sliding attempt hit the Badin keeper and ricocheted back. Hailee was there to knock it home while the keeper and Michelle remained sprawled on the ground.
The other big moment was a couple of minutes earlier. A Badin player had a point blank shot but keeper Alexa Levick made a two handed catch over her head. This was Alexa's 16th shutout of the season.
