Now I know that I posted the other day about Nikki McKee making first team all-district. However, the term "district" apparently has more than one meaning. You know, like for politicians (from both sides of the aisle - don't get me started) "ethical behavior" means anything short of being caught red-handed committing some crime but for the rest of us it means something else? Well, there's the district from the other day AND there's District 16. So for District 16, the Division II player of the year is.....(you read the headline didn't you?):
Nikki McKee
Nikki averaged 18.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 2.0 assists per game this year as a junior.
Congratulations to Nikki who of course is on the first team, I guess by definition.
On the second team are Sudy Graham and Michelle Jolson.
Sudy averaged 7.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 steal per game in this, her senior season. She also shot a stellar 55.4% from the field
Michelle, just a sophomore, averaged 8.4 points, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 rebounds per game.
Dave Loper, Wyoming resident and Ursuline Head Coach, was named Division I Coach of the Year.
(Thanks to Coach Edmonds for the above information.)
Finally, Sudy will be playing in the Senior All-Star Game at St. Bernard High School on Wednesday, March 24th at 6 PM. Also, Nikki will be presented the player of the year award at this game. Come on out and support these fine hoopsters.
(Thanks to Julie Jolson for this info.)
