Girls basketball defeats Finneytown

The girls basketball team defeated the Finneytown Wildcats last night 44-30 at Finneytown.

The Wildcats came into the game at 8-2 and ranked 11th in the Enquirer's coaches poll vs. Wyoming's #8 ranking.  The game didn't seem that competitive though.  The Cowboys built up a 26-16 halftime lead.  Finneytown seemed to make a little push early in the third quarter but a couple of late threes by Hailee Schlager and Nikki McKee actually extended the lead from halftime before the quarter was over.

Nikki and Hailee led the scoring.  Nikki put in 16 and Hailee added 11, followed by Sudy Graham with 7, Jane Streeter and Michelle Jolson with four each, and Clara Rodrigue with a deuce.

The following players are in the top 5 in the CHL for their respective category:
Nikki McKee - scoring - #2 - 15.9 ppg, steals - #1 - 5.3 spg
Michelle Jolson - assists - #4 - 3.0 apg
Sudy Graham - shooting percentage - #2 - 54.1%
Emily Fraik - blocks - #4 - 1.1 bpg

The girls are now 6-2 on the season.
