From Coach White
The Wyoming Jackrabbits Ultimate club posted its third straight win to start the season Sunday, knocking off Mason 10-5. On a windy day, the Jackrabbits unveiled a strong zone, forcing numerous turnovers that wore Mason down, as Wyoming went from a 4-3 edge to the 10-5 final score.
Junior Jaden Shapiro was on target all day, completing an array of deep throws that accounted for seven goals. Junior Max Brady, in his first varsity game, caught three scores, and Michael Spurling had two goals and a scoring catch. Junior Joe White anchored the back of the zone, leading the team in interceptions and deflections, and adding two scoring throws, while senior Tim Fitch and sophomore Annmarie Spurling paced a hustling zone trap and each had a scoring catch.
The Jackrabbits JV squad dropped a tough 8-14 contest to St. X/Ursaline Academy. Senior Blake Wickstrom, had five scoring throws and one goal catch, while Junior Quinn Wolfer had four goal catches and two scoring throws.
The Jackrabbits are off the next two weeks, returning to action Sunday, April 12 at 3:15 at the Wyoming Rec Center.
