Ultimate Out of the Gate

From Coach George White,

The Wyoming Ultimate team is back in action, looking to defend the league championship won in an undefeated 2013 season.  Known as the Jackrabbits and now in its 15th year as a club, the 2014 club again has almost 50 players, and is fielding a Varsity and Reserve team in the B division of the 30-team co-ed Cincinnati High School league.

The varsity bounced back from a tough one point loss to Walnut Hills to square its record at 1-1 with a 9-7 win over Sycamore on a very windy and cold day at Oak Park.  The Jackrabbits were paced by the four scoring catches of senior Alex Kellner and four scoring throws of senior Sam White, and two scoring throws and one goal catch by sophomore Jaden Shapiro.  Sophomores Joe White and Maddie Henke connected for the only upwind goal of the game.  The Reserve team, led by sophomores Quin Wolfer (three scoring throws and one catch) and Max Brady (three scoring catches)  dropped a tough 8-7 game to St. X/Ursuline, in which every goal was scored downwind.

The Jackrabbits varsity returns to action this Sunday at 1 at Oak Park against Clark Montessori.
