News From the Road

DOBO, John Brown sent the following news from the Baseball team down in Tennessee.

A great start to our regular season today (, as we started the season down in Nashville.  Our season opener was against Grundy County. Casey Howell started pitching and recorded the win. Sophomore Sam Marty relieved and recorded the save. Tucker Marty was a huge contribution on the offensive side going 2 for 2 with 3 RBIs, and Casey Howell had a 3 run home run as well as we went on to win 12-1.

In our second game we faced Centersville.  This game was a defensive battle as we won 3-1.  Tucker Marty started this game and pitched 6 and a third innings. His cousin, Will, relieved him in the seventh and ended the game with a huge strikeout. This defensive game was led by junior second basemen Sam Izenson. We continue to play 3 more games through the spring break trip to baseball, starting with Marshall County tomorrow.
