Update from the Ultimate [Frisbee] Club

The Wyoming High School Ultimate Club, a club level, co-ed team, now has more than 30 student players, and is therefore fielding two teams this season in the 25-team Cincinnati-area high school league (other teams include Lakota, Moeller/Mt. Notre Dame, St. X/Ursaline Academy, Indian Hill, Princeton, Tipp City (!), and several others). This year's team is calling itself the Jackrabbits.

The Jackrabbits A squad, comprised of juniors and seniors, plus a few sophomores, beat a Home School team 13-2 Tuesday, for Wyoming's first victory over a Home School club in 10 years. The Home School clubs have dominated the league for more than five years, but the Jackrabbits A team overwhelmed them with strong team play and an aggressive zone defense. 11 different team members threw or caught a goal, led by Senior Max Meyers with five goals and an assist, juniors Eric Reichwien (4 assists and one goal), David Weinrich (3 assists and one goal), and Nick Woods (3 assists), and sophomore Sam White (2 goals).

Both Wyoming squads next take the field this Sunday, April 1, at 2:45 p.m., at the Wyoming Rec Center turf field, taking on teams from Walnut Hills and Clrak Montessori.
