CHL Girls' Basketball Preview

The girls' basketball season tips in less than two weeks - November 28th! The Enquirer has a preview of the CHL here.

Wyoming

Coach: Travis Glendenning (First season)

Last year: 19-4 (12-2)

What’s new: Glendenning replaces Angie Edmonds after Edmonds spent six seasons coaching the Cowboys.

Key players: Senior guard Michelle Jolson, senior guard Clara Rodrigue and senior guard Mary Tess Irvine.

Outlook: With all-state guard, last season’s leading scorer and current Miami Redhawk Nikki McKee gone, a trio of seniors in the backcourt will be the key to the Cowboys’ season. Jolson is the top returning scorer and rebounder with 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game last season to go with a team-best 2.8 assists. Irvine added 4.4 points and 2.4 rebounds and Rodrigue scored 2.9 points, grabbed 3.4 rebounds and handed out 2.4 assists.

“We hope to rely on the experience of a large senior class this year,” Glendenning said.
