Rounding Third and Heading For Home

Saturday October 3rd, Wyoming JV Football took on Mariemont at home. It was a defensive battle but Mariemont came out on top with a score of 6 - 2.  To quote our great announcer, Steve Ogle, "It sounds like a baseball score", but unfortunately it was the final score.  Mariemont was the first to score, with a hard-fought rushing TD.  #79 James Smith blocked the extra point by Mariemont.

In the 2nd quarter, #51 Hasan Black, #47 Trent Rusnak and James Smith were able to take down Mariemont during a high snap for a punt return.  James Smith gets credit for the Safety.  Wyoming 2 - Mariemont 6.

We did see some great action on both sides of the ball.  #44 Jacob Hancock and Trent Rusnak were effective through out the game, as usual.  #18 Tyler McIlvain made a few outstanding receptions giving us some great field position.  During a tackle by James Smith, Mariemont lost the ball and Hasan Black made the recovery.  #53 Eli Cupp also recovered a fumble from Mariemont late in the game setting the Cowboys up for a great opportunity.

Next game is at Madeira on Saturday 10/10 at 10am and on 10/17 we will welcome Finneytown to Wyoming at 10am.

Brought to you by Milk,
the should-be official sports drink of the Wyoming Cowboys.
Thanks to Kara Pendery for the report and the great pictures.
