If You're Headed For Victory You Need to Know the Address

From AD, Jan Wilking
Congratulations to our girls soccer team on a huge (3-2) victory last night (Tuesday, October 27) over the defending state champions!  We play on Thursday (October 29) at 7pm vs. Oakwood for the District title.
The address of the game site is 506 Dayton Ave Xenia, OH 45385 – the stadium is NOT at the high school.
All tickets are $6.

Just Leave the Candy On the Porch

Tuesday. October 27th, in a match almost noted for class-act sportsmanship on both sides of the ball, the Boys Soccer team wiped out McNick 2-0 in the Sectional Finals and advance to play Kenton Ridge for the District Title on Saturday, October 31st at 7pm.  Although the game will be on Halloween, let's hope it's less disturbing than Tuesday's game.  The game will be held at Hamilton High School in Hamilton, OH.

Word on the street is that Rod Apfelbeck was on-hand to capture action so look forward to seeing some great pictures.

Maybe Not a Nail-Biter, But Loads of Fun

Kara Pendery reports from the Wyoming Whomps Finneytown Scoreapalooza on Saturday, October 17th.

Wyoming JV took on Finneytown, at home on Saturday 10/17.  Finneytown left town with 0 points on the board.  The Cowboys put up so many points on the board, that any decent report would be way too long.  So, here are just some of the highlights from Wyoming's 41-0 win ....

Ethan Tefs - Rushing TD.   6 - 0

Perry McMichen - QB rushing TD.    12 - 0

Tyler McIlvain with a reception for the 2pnt conversion.  14 - 0.

Tyler McIlvain with an Interception.

Perry McMichen with another TD.   20 - 0

James Smith intercepted a pass, from a screen, that was tipped by Eli Cupp.

Trent Rusnak rushing TD.  26 -  0

Eli Feazell with a reception for the 2pnt conversion.   28 - 0

Tyler McIlvain with another interception.

Brayden Matlin rushing TD.  34 - 0

Brady Brunsman with the PAT.  35 - 0

Jacob Hancock rushing TD.  41 - 0

Please come cheer on JV at home for their final game, this Saturday, 10/24 vs. Reading at 10am.  The boys could use a big HOME crowd as this game is guaranteed to be an exciting one!

As the JV season comes to a close, I just want to mention a few people that have worked hard for this group of players.  Disclaimer:  If I omitted someone, it was not intentional, but more than likely due to the age of this reporter.

The JV cheerleaders:  Amya, Morgan, Paige, Sierra, Kyleese, Jamaiica and Katie!!
Frannie Rogers - roping in concession workers for all the home games
Varsity parents for taking on concession shifts on Saturday mornings
Ed Cupp for filming the games so we can review the highlights on Hudl
The Chain Gang - Chuck Rogers, Mario Listo and John Hall and the subs
Steve Ogle, our amazon JV announcer, who sounds like he should be on Sports Center
Duke Mitchell extraordinaire!  Mr. "D", Field Cheerleader, WYO's Water Boy, Fan Favorite, The Duckster, Home Town Hero, Our Cowboy, Mr. Hugger!

The coaching staff of Kitchen, Berger and Aleshire!

Thanks to everyone that came out and supported these young men this season!! On Wyoming!

The Round Up would like to add Kara Pendery in this Thank You list.  It's been great to have this team brought out of the shadows and into the spotlight they deserve.
See more of Kara's game pictures HERE

(Did you also know that Wyoming has a Varsity Football team?  Rod Apfelbeck regularly provides photographic evidence, and not that we doubt Rod, but maybe if there was some written record of their exploits it would go a long way in helping to bring others to believe.  If you've happened to see this fabled Varsity team, send a report to wyoroundup@gmail.com)

Kara's not kidding about guaranteed excitement.  Just look how excited this Wildcat was just to be on the field with our Cowboys.
Turn out for their last game this Saturday at 10.

Cowboy CHAMPS!!

Coach Fulton has great news to report from the CHL Middle School Championships.

The 7th grade volleyball team won the title as CHL Champs! The first game against Indian Hill was a nail biter, but we took the win. The final game against Taylor who were ranked as the #1 seat was no challenge for the Cowboys. Wyoming had a crushing win in two matches against Taylor.

We are the Mighty CHL Volleyball Cowboy Champs!
Congratulations to the team and Coach Fulton!

Madeira Mashed

Kara Pendery and writer Y.O. Ming team up to bring you the action from the JV Football team and their 21-14 win at Madeira on Saturday, October 10th.

Early in the first quarter, Perry McMichen lateraled to Brayden Matlin .  Bradin threw a long pass to Tyler McIlvain for a touchdown.  Sergio Listo made the PAT, Wyoming 7 - Madeira 0.

In the 2nd quarter, after a failed Madeira punt, due to a high snap, Wyoming got the ball deep in Madeira territory (18 yrd line).  Perry handed the ball off to Ethan Tefs for a 5yd TD run.  Wyoming 14 - Madeira 0.  Later in the quarter, Miles Smith took a great pass, 26 yards, down to the 14 yard line. Perry McMichen had a nice 14 yard scamper for a TD.  Wyoming 21 - Madeira 0.

In the 3rd quarter, the Wyoming defense stiffened after a long Madeira drive to start the half with 2 tenacious takedowns by Eli Cupp.  Miles Smith had a great 18 yd run.

In the 4th quarter, Perry threw a 17 yd screen to Ethan Tefs.  Shortly after, Wyoming fumbled deep in Madeira territory.  The Wyoming defense held strong and Madeira turned the ball over on downs.  Wyoming fumbled and we were back on defense.  Tyler McIlvain intercepted the ball and ran it down to the Madeira 7 yd line.  Wyoming could not capitalize and turned it over on downs.

With less than a minute left in the game, Madeira had a quick TD and 2 pt conversion.  Wyoming 21 - Madeira 8.  Madeira made an onside kick and recovered it.  After 3 plays, Madeira scored again to make it 21 - 14.  Madeira was going for 2, but with the help of Eli Cupp, Hasan Black and Luke Erny, the PAT failed.  Madeira attempted another onside kick but Myles Smith recovered it to seal the win.  Wyoming 21 - Madeira 14.
Thanks to W.O. Ming for the report, and
Thanks to Kara Pendery for the great pictures.

The JV coverage of Football has been wonderful this year.  It's been great to see into the crystal ball of the new and the next for Wyoming Football.  Now I'm not saying the the Varsity coverage has been resting on its laurels, (I'll just write it and let you be the one to say it as you read it out loud to yourself.)  I'm sure that up there in the stands (or maybe even down on the field) there is one who has the ability to string three or four sentences together to relay the awesomeness that is Cowboy Football to our other readers.  And I'm going to try to incite some us vs. them mentality, because really we're all on the same team here, but are you really going to let them JV reporters beat us Varsity fans by winning he hearts and minds of the masses with their excellent reporting while we sit on our pencils?
