Great Margins Against Anderson

Jen Hays always serves up the freshest in Boys Soccer news.  This time we hear about the Thursday, August 21st game against Anderson.
The Wyoming men's varsity soccer team played Anderson last night.  It took a few minutes for the Cowboys to get moving, but once they did they couldn't be stopped.  First half saw Jay Klein turn the ball beautifully, aim for the far post, and land it in the net.  Andrew Derge was fouled in the box, giving Toby Varland the opportunity to sink a nice penalty kick to make it 2-0.  Although in the second half Anderson scored off a corner kick, the Cowboys answered back.  Andrew Derge had a great break away and carried it right down to the net, (making us spectators very nervous at how long he waited).  Andy Renggli had an awesome power shot from about the 25 yard line.  Andrew Derge must have been on the Redskins radar as once again he was fouled in the box giving Toby Varland another opportunity to score on the penalty kick.  Anderson did end up scoring off another corner kick, but it just wasn't enough.

Cowboys came out victorious over Anderson 5-2.   Way to go Cowboys!

Next game is away at Madeira on Tuesday, August 26th.  JV plays at 5:00. Varsity plays at 7:00.
Thanks to Jen Hays for the report, and
Thanks to Deb Varland for the great pictures.
