They say you can't have too much of a good thing. That's all well and good during the season, but I'm sure it gave Coach Gruber a rough way to go trying to decide who to highlight. She sent us the following:
2013 Girls Soccer League & City Honors:
Emma Klug (12) - 1st Team All CHL & 1st Team All Southwest Ohio, & 2nd Team All State
Kayla Hampton (9) - 1st Team All CHL &1st Team All Southwest Ohio
Kelsey Brunsman (12) - 1st Team All CHL
Carly Varland (12) - 2nd Team All CHL
Olivia Munneke (11) - 2nd Team All CHL
Jasmine Evans (9) - Honorable Mention All CHL
Team Awards from Fall Sports Awards Night:
Team MVP: Emma Klug
Emma was voted team MVP by her teammates for the second year in a row. She capped a 4 year varsity career with a total of 17 goals and 11 assists.
Cowboy Award: Lindsey Smith
This award is given to a player who represents the values of the soccer program: integrity, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic. This year the award was also accompanied by a $1,000 dollar scholarship thanks to the Wyoming Soccer Club.
Arete Award: Kelsey Brunsman
Arete is a Greek word that means "be the best you can be," which Kelsey has done by excelling in the classroom and on the soccer field in the face of adversity.
Congratulations to all of the girls on their accomplishments, and to the rest of the coaches and athletes on a tremendous fall season! GO COWBOYS!!!
