Wyoming Duals this Saturday

Wrestling head coach Brian Pittman gives the following overview of this Saturday's meet and encourages everyone to come out and support the team.

The Wyoming wrestling team will host the 8th annual Wyoming Duals on Saturday starting at 9:30. Ten teams will participate in all. The following teams will be in attendance:
• Miamisburg (won the duals the last 3 years). They are coached by 4-time state Champ Willie Wineberg

• Madeira is ranked 5th in the city. They have a senior who is a possible state champion in D3.

• Norwood is ranked 10th in the city and has four wrestlers who are extremely solid.

• Batavia is tied for 10th in the city with Norwood

• Wyoming is currently ranked 9th and has beaten Madeira, Norwood, and Batavia this season.

• Mt. Healthy is close to D 2 status. They will have a full and strong line-up

The dual tournament format is simple. There will be 2 pools (sides) with 5 teams in each pool. Each team will wrestle 4 matches within its pool. The final round will match the winners of each pool for the first place match. The second place finishers of each pool will wrestle for 3rd. The third place finishers will wrestle for 5th (you get the idea).
Wyoming’s squad will wrestle throughout the day beginning at 9:45/10:00. They will have a match about every hour and half. The finals will be at or around 5:00 (depending on the lengths of matches throughout the day.
Many personal goals will be reached this weekend.
