Girls Lacrosse

Breaking News:
The Girls Lacrosse Senior Night has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 12.

From Coach Crawford,
Thursday night the Cowboys Girls Lacrosse team hosted the Mariemont Warriors and the annual Wyoming Youth Lax Night.  The JV played against a fast Mariemont team, losing 4 to 8.  In the Varsity game, Mariemont stuck first at 22:04 leading 1-0.  The following twelve minutes of play showed quick midfield transitions, strong defensive stands, and timely goalie saves on both sides.  But Mariemont went on a 5-0 goal run before the Cowboys could recover; score at half Cowboys 3, Warriors 9.  Mariemont held on to win, Cowboys 8, Mariemont 13.  Goalie Claire Mellott recorded 6 saves.  Goals were scored by Marielle Smith (4), Reilly Simmons (2), and Libby Wadds (1).
On a rainy Saturday, the Cowboys traveled to Summit County Day.  The JV played well, but lost 5 to 6.  The Varsity, down 3 to 8 at half, lost 12 to 16.  Goals scored by Ashley Moher (3), Reilly Simmons (2), Haley Stewart (2), Lindsay Stewart (2), Marielle Smith (2), Elizabeth Hughes (1).  Grace Steiner recorded a team season high with 4 interceptions.
