Girls Lacrosse
From Coach Crawford
The Cowboys hosted Walnut Hills during a windy Tuesday night. In an exciting JV game, the Cowboys fell behind 0-3 early in the first half but fought back to tie 3-3 at the half. Second half play saw the Cowboys down 5-3, but goals from Ellie Marty saw the Cowboys tie the game at 5-5 with 26 seconds remaining. But in the game's last draw, the Eagles took possession and with 12 seconds remaining scored with the final score Cowboys 5, Eagles 6. Goalie Olivia Grady had a tremendous performance recording 14 saves. Goals were lead by Ellie Marty (3), followed by Lauren Montgomery (1) and Anna Cate Meis (1). JV Cowboys record entering Spring Break is 1 Win and 1 Loss.
The Varsity squad also had an exciting game against a tough Eagles team that was looking to reverse last year's lost to the Cowboys. The first half saw a low scoring, defensive display with the Cowboys on top 6-3. Two more goals in the first four minutes of the second half saw the Cowboys establishing some breathing room at 8-3, until the Eagles scoring machine ignited and went on a 5 goal unanswered scoring run to tie the game at 8-8 with 2:57 left in the game. Goalies from both teams performed brilliantly to end last minute offensive attacks as game time expired. However, in sudden victory overtime, the Eagles won the draw control but could not net a goal after several attempts, thanks to a stonewall Cowboy's defense and remarkable save by Goalie Claire Mellott that, with the following clear, saw the game ending score from Lindsay Stewart after receiving a pass from sister Haley. Final score 9-8.
Goals were lead by Marielle Smith with 3, followed by Libby Wadds (2), Reilly Simmons, (2), Haley Stewart (1), and Lindsay Stewart (1). Draw controls were lead by Haley Stewart (5) followed by Emily Wood (3), and Kelly Lyons (1). Assists were lead by M. Smith (3) followed by H. Stewart (2), and Caroline Meis (1). Cowboys move to 2 Wins and 0 Loss.

Ultimate Beginning
From Coach White:
The Wyoming Jackrabbits Ultimate Frisbee team kicked off its season in style with a resounding 11-2 win over Clark on a windy day Tuesday. Playing in the Cincinnati high school league’s A division for the first time in more than a decade after winning the B league regular season last year, the Jackrabbits gained some revenge over the squad that edged them in the league tournament final last year.
The senior-dominated Jackrabbits jumped out to a 9-0 lead and coasted to the win. Senior Jaden Shapiro led the way with three scoring throws and one goal catch, senior Joe White, a first-team All State selection in 2015 has three scoring throws, and senior Jay Klein shined in his first Ultimate game with three scoring catches. Seniors Max Brady, Daniel Tighe, and Gus Bradley each caught two goals, while junior Arthur Cilley and sophomore Elliot Fuller each threw two goals.
The Jackrabbits JV team also go off to a strong start, with a 9-1 win over Clark’s JV team. Junior Wyatt Curtis has one scoring throw and three goal catches, sophomore Victoria Lentz had three goal catches, 8th grader Aidan Sevens had three scoring throws, and sophomore Nick Nance had two scoring throws and one goal catch.
The Cincinnati high school Ultimate league includes more than 40 co-ed teams from southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, and is recognized as one of the strongest high school leagues in the country. Wyoming was a founding school in the league in 2000. The varsity and JV teams will return to action after Spring break. Games are Sunday afternoons at the Rec Center.

VARSITY
We previously posted HERE about the Girls Lacrosse season opening WIN against Lakota East on Saturday, March 19th. Now we have some great pictures from Arch Cunningham to add in.
7th/8th GradeFrom Susaon Osha:
We all know that whenever Wyoming and Indian Hill meet, it's gonna be a good one. Monday's matchup between the girls' middle school lax teams delivered. Wyoming lead 5-1 at the end of the first half. IH came on strong in the second half, tying up the game at 8-8. Much like the Xavier game on Sunday, the team in red scored the game-winner just as time was expiring.
First home game of the season is Wednesday, 3/23, when Wyoming hosts Anderson. Action begins at 6:30.

Wow! Wonderful Wilking and Wyoming Win
In a move that has High School English teacher Ms. Edmonds doing the Double Dorsey, the Wyoming Athletic Department has received the annual Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association "Award of Excelence". Yes, I said "Excelence"
From the OIAAA site:
"The award, a collaboration between the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA), recognizes schools that provide exemplary support and promotion of education-based athletic programming in their school and community."
"The focus of the award is to recognize on-going and consistent efforts on the part of Ohio interscholastic athletic departments that demonstrate best practice in the endorsement and promotion of education-based athletic programming. Specifically, this award recognizes schools that demonstrate intentional efforts to shift the culture of school-based sport programs as an on-going process."
