Season Ends with Success at State

From Coach Glendenning's  RunWyoming blog

In his first appearance in the state finals, Junior Kolan Livingston earned a 12th place finish in the discus. Kolan's best throw measured 143 feet, 2 inches. He gained great experience as one of only 5 competitors eligible to return next season. Later in the day Senior Ben Stites claimed a state title in the 3200m run, capping off one of the greatest seasons and careers in school history. The leaders came through the first mile at 4:44 with Ben sitting at the back of the front pack. Over the next 3 laps several runners faded leaving Ben in a 2-man duel with 500m remaining. He hammered a 62 second last lap, seizing the lead 300m from the finish for a convincing victory. With a winning time of 9:25.09 Ben broke his own school record set earlier this year and concluded another successful season for Wyoming Track & Field!
