Lace Up Your Orthopedic's, Ethel

The Cross Country Alumni Race is slated for Saturday, August 10th at 9am.  It's being held at Glenwood Gardens.

I'm all for boosting your team's confidence, but inviting old people to the park for a race, knowing full well that they will get distracted as they begin to look for a place to stop and feed the ducks, seems more than a little unfair.  The only way Coach Glendenning could have set up his team for an easier win would have been to have them compete against four-year-olds inside a Toys R Us.  Of course, the Hare thought he had the race in the bag when the Tortoise snuck in for the win, so I guess anything could happen.

The 3k race is open to all former runners.  Bagels and drinks will be provided (I'm not sure if that includes prune juice or Metamucil).
