WHS Junior Joel Weis' Eagle Project

Joel Weis (WHS junior and basketball player) put in a high quality adjustable basketball hoop at Elm Elementary for his Boy Scout Eagle project.

The hoop was installed in August by Joel and his troop (Troop 482). Joel always wanted a hoop when he went to Elm (2nd through 4th grade) and decided to do something about it. He got great support from Dr. Lang, Scott Kaufman, and Ted Howse.

The parents at Elm generously donated almost $2,000 toward the project and the school matched it. Along with the hoop, Joel painted a basketball court complete with a 3 point line for future top Wyoming basketball players!

Joel also did some other work at the playground (planting sod and grass seed, repainting the Four Square courts etc) and bought basketballs, footballs, kick balls and four square balls for the kids.

When a WHS hoopster hits a jumper in 2021 - he or she may have Joel to thank.
