Emily Stites wins state championship in 3200 meters
Wyoming has another state champion.
Emily Stites went to the state track meet yesterday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at the Ohio State University and blew away the field to become the Division II 3200 meter state champion.
In the process, Emily set a new state championship meet record with a 10:43.32. The second place finisher ran a 11:02.34 - more than 19 seconds behind.
But hey - that's just Division II. If Emily was running in Division I - the big schools - she would only be state champ by about a second and a half.
