I received the following from Wyoming's Public Information Officer, Mary Killen:
At the March Wyoming Board of Education meeting, Scott Kaufman was appointed as Athletic Director effective August 1, 2011, to succeed Jim Barre who retired in December. Terry Hartley has been serving as the Interim Director since that time.
“We welcome Scott into the Wyoming School family,” stated Dr. Gail Kist-Kline. “He comes to our district with 19 years of experience as an Athletic Director and teacher. He is considered one of the top athletic directors in the state of Ohio and is highly regarded by his peers. Scott clearly understands the positive impact participation in extra-curricular activities can have on student achievement and is committed to ensuring that students gain and grow from their experiences as athletes.”
He states that his mission is for every student-athlete to have the opportunity to work hard, develop both mentally and physically, and to have fun in their chosen sport. He also hopes to provide support to coaches and staff so that they have a positive effect on the development of each young man and woman.
Most recently, Kaufman served as Athletic Director in the Princeton City Schools. He holds a B.S. from Bradley University and a Masters of Education from Xavier University and previously taught Mathematics at the junior high level.
