Bon Appetit

Cowboy football season is practically upon us.  If you're the type that likes filet mignon for an appetizer, we're here to whet your appetite.  Our own man-on-the-street Rod Apfelbeck spotted local legend Larry Black Jr. at the Bengals' Camp.
Check out his pictures HERE for a glimpse of things present and future.

Glory is Only 3K Away

Are you really going to let the bragging of these young whipper-snappers go unanswered?  That's not like you at all.  Pull yourself together, slide on the wristbands and dust off the spikes - you're goin' racin'.

All past Wyoming runners are invited to join the Cross Country team for the Annual Alumni 3k Race with our current team members on Saturday, August 9th at 9am at Glenwood Gardens.

We've Got Spirit How 'Bout You

Friday, August 29th, there will be a Booster's Kick Off Tail Gate Party at the Municpal Lot off of Springfield Pike near the tennis courts and right next to the football stadium from 5 to 7.  The T-Shirt Company's Spirit Wear Store will be there with all of the necessities, and so will Chill Shaved Ice, Kaimelsky's, and Cuban Pete, as well as music from Landline.  Now this isn't your grandfather's tail gate party - get yourself and your Buick all be-dazzled as there will be recognition at half-time for the most spirited team and car.

For those of us with refrigerators clamoring for new school stuff to have magnet-ed to it, download the flyers.

Got Questions?  We've got answers.  Or,well, not really "we", more like Blayne Smith and Graham Wadds have answers.

The Old Familiar Faces

You wouldn't know it from the oppressive heat and humidity, but Fall is fast approaching.  And just as Summer's glory doesn't fade quietly into the Fall, the Wyoming Cowboy Athlete's competitive drive remains well after graduation. Saturday, July 19th, both the Girls and Boys Soccer Teams Alumni Games were played on the Bernie Barre Field.
Stay tuned for more pictures and news from the games.

First Place in Our Hearts

From Coach Valerie Fuller
The Wyoming Seadragons ended their season on Monday and Tuesday finishing second to Evendale. There were some amazing swims. Ten Seadragons won first place in their individual events and twenty-three Seadragons were involved in first place winning relays. We also had 3 league record breaking relays and individual record breaking swims. It was an amazing 2 days. Everyone is already looking forward to next year!

Wrapping Up With Wins

From Coach Valerie Fuller,
The Wyoming Seadragons were lucky enough to have beautiful weather for both of their meets last week. On Tuesday the swam against the team from Blue Ash. The Seadragons won 421 - 279. On Thursday, the Seadragons swam against the Sharonville Sharks. Again we were victorious! What a great way to finish our dual meet season and head into Championships. Championships is a 2 day meet with a prelim - finals format. We are ready to bring another Championship home to Wyoming! Go Seadragons!

A Day Without Rain

As exciting as Enya is, she's no match for the high-energy of a Seadragon swim meet.

From Coach Fuller
The Wyoming Seadragons finally had a night where the weather cooperated and they were able to have a swim meet. On Thursday, July 3, the Seadragons swam against their league rivals, the Evendale Eagles. After a lot of very exciting races the meet ended in a tie! The Seadragons had a lot of great swims. One stand-out swim was by one of our youngest swimmers who swam in her very first race of the season! It was a lot of fun listening to everyone cheer her on. That's Seadragon spirit!

Wyoming at the World Cup

Some of the members of the Wyoming High School Men's team took part in a World Refugee Day soccer tournament over the weekend.

The World Refugee Day “World Cup” brought together the various refugee communities in Greater Cincinnati for a family day of Youth, High School, and Adult activities.  A total of 8 High School (14-19) teams participated in a bracket style “World Cup” tournament. The teams were organized by “country.”  We were USA 1.

The purpose of this event was to celebrate the World Refugee Day, to bring the refugee community together and to raise awareness of the refugee communities within the Cincinnati community.
Thanks to Coach Steve Thomas for getting them involved!
Thanks to Jen Hayes for sending in the report and pictures.
