Even considering the rain, that had to be the sloooowest 1k race I've ever seen. I didn't see anyone even trying to actually run. They were just walking around like it was a parade or something. If some of the runners would have spent less time waving to the spectators maybe they would have been able to pick up the pace. And I don't want to be mention any names here, but some of the racers were playing dirty. It looked like they were throwing candy all over the course to trip up the competition. Say what you will about "kids these days", but they were the only ones who seemed concerned about the safety of the runners. I saw plenty of them trying to clean it up as soon as it hit the ground.
