Alumni Cross Country Race

The Cross Country team is having an Alumni Cross Country Race on Saturday, August 11th at 9 AM at Glenwood Gardens. (Therefore alum's should probably start limping and shuffling in that direction as soon as possible.)

The race is a 3K competition with the alumni squaring off against the current runners. Alumni are allowed to use walkers but not scooters.

Coach Glendenning will provide breakfast after the run, although it will be BYOB - Bring Your Own Bengay.  (Click through guys - Dana Torres is the spokesmodel brand ambassador.)

Ian Kadish, WHS '07, promoted to Lansing Lugnuts

When we last heard about Ian Kadish, WHS '07 and a member of the Toronto Blue Jays' organization, he had been assigned to the Vancouver Canadians.  He was recently promoted to the Lansing Lugnuts.

While playing for Vancouver, Ian, a relief pitcher, appeared in 15 games, pitching 22 and 2/3 innnings.  During that span he had an Earned Run Average of 1.59 and picked up five saves.  He had an impressive ratio of 11 walks to 36 strikeouts.  Opposing teams batted just .130 against him.  Complete stats here.

Lansing plays at the Dayton Dragons next Tuesday-Friday, July 31-August 3.  All games are at 7 PM.  Let's give Ian a "hometown" reception even though technically he's on the road.  Ticket information here.
